I had problems with a wireless computer, my HRM disturbed, and thought I was doing 17 MPH when I stopped. The other downside is that you need a wireless batteries 2 instead of 1. I found with a cadence readout probably helped me make the best improvement to my bikes for many years, I just was not turning the pedals fast enough. Not only am I now faster, but my knees are feeling better for it, and I get up hills without getting tired, so I much. I have a Cateye Strada Cadence mounted on both my cycles, I've been using only one, but the cost of the kit for half bike was not much less than the cost of a complete unit, so I bought half. In the three years that I got them, I've done a 1000 miles and almost 3000 with the addition of other lectures in the strange heavy rain, and changing the battery at about 1500 miles, I have no problems. If they are properly calibrated, they are within 0.5% of the lecture I got from My GPS. EDIT: The wired model does have an automatic start / stop, it starts when a signal is sent to the unit or from the wheel sensor or the pedal sensor, and stops when the signal stops. You can slowly so that the display cycle stops, but that amounts to about 1.5 MPH.
