Selling a motorcycle in Qld .. what papers do I need?
Hey all .. ok, I’m being lazy here .. but thought I would put 10 points up for grabs at the same time.
Its been a while since I’ve bought or sold vehicles privately. I currently have my motorcycle up for sale and I’m not sure what papers I need to have once a deal has been made.
Can anyone shed some light on exactly what documents I need to have completed prior to the buyer showing up to collect? i.e. registration papers etc?
The bike is currently registered and only 12 months old.
Get together the paperwork that you will need to close the sale. This includes not only your current registration and pink slip, but a buyers/sellers declaration which you can obtain from your local Department of Licensing.
If you’ve been consistent and have the paperwork on file from past servicing, pull it together and present it to your prospective buyer when they come to see the bike. It shows that you cared well for the bike during its life with you.
