How to ride comfortably and have fun

Having a bike trail in our neighborhood is always an advantage for those of us who love biking. Right from when you were a kid till now you might have owned and rode several varieties of bikes. Have you ever realized how comfortable the rides were for you? This is something most of us overlook, rather choose to overlook. After all, it is the bike that matters. But the fact is comfort is one of the most important factors for a biker. Having rode for all these years, or even if you are new to the world of biking you will be surprised to know how many types of bikes are available in the market today.

While riding your bike if you find yourself leaning forward too much then there is definitely something not right in the comfort level of your bike. Leaning forward will cause all your body weight to fall on your wrists, thus making their muscles sore and painful after some time. Especially if you rode a mountain bike, you will realize that maneuvering through narrow, jagged trails with uneven surfaces becomes extremely difficult. If this is your case you should think of investing in a more comfortable bike.

Another important aspect of bike comfort is your seat. It is said that you should choose a bike where the seat fits your shape. But we most often come across people complaining that their riding for a long time makes it extremely painful…you know where. You should look for a bike with padded or cushioned seats which support your pelvis well. The seat for women is ideally wider at the back while those for men are narrower.

If you are looking for a comfort bike, a hybrid bike or a stretch cruiser are options you can look at. The frame is upright and light weight. So this will enable to be in an upright position and say goodbye to those painful wrists. You also will have a better vision of your path ahead. The tires of these comfort bikes are wider than normal bikes. This enables better traction while riding on grass or muddy surfaces. The stretch cruiser gives you a laid back comfy riding experience. The seat post is adjustable to your preference.

It is about time you give a serious thought to your riding comfort. It will definitely make riding a lot more fun if you are on a comfort bike. Your health is any day more important than pleasure.
