Choosing your child's first BMX bike
I've kept in my heart the desire to this article for some time to write. This article is written for parents everywhere, the when shopping for their boy or a girl the first BMX bike!
Just around 7 years so I have my own bike shop operate from my family home in Mesa, Arizona, Donnie programs Bicycle Shop, and it thrills me to no end, some important information with you!
Before anything else, let's talk about BMX bikes and names you may or may not to buy your son or daughter's first bike. You can not go wrong with Haro. BMX HARO is so long and they keep coming up with new and innovative designs. Diamondback is also reliable, lightweight, and again, the company is very solid. Red-Line BMX is also highly recommended.
My choice is the mark of Mongoose BMX bikes – especially if their line is purchased of a real bike shop that knows what they do. Mongoose is the creation of BMX bikes that everyone tails kick for years, and they make the most beautiful bikes! But you will have to take Your local real bicycle shop owner, not because you want to buy Wal-Mart or another store. You can also contact directly only a Mongoose and BMX bike racing catalog.
The very first BMX bike, I had a bike called by JAG BMX Mongoose, and the bike me well for many years. If you can get one of Ahold, it's definitely worth it. My first car had a glossy cream-orange frame with white MotoMags. I recommend Motomags. But be careful not Motomag imitations, and there are a lot of them. It should say on Motomag.
To warn for grabs! Today BMX bikes are coming out with some of the most uncomfortable grips for the kids' hands! Have the bike shop owner show you the array of grips available, and for me, a style foam is best, or a really soft rubber Gel is ok too. I always loved the foam grips on vault, as they absorb the shock of the fall!
Stay tuned for the launch of a GT Dyno's line. The frames of most of them are not as solid and if you do not believe me, visit your local thrift store, and you'll see a lot GT Dyno's. I personally would not buy my son or daughter a GT bike, unless it is one of the top of the line models. I have a problem in the air had with them upon landing, compared with the awesome BMX Mongoose, my father bought me the local bike shop in Mesa.
Buy your child a bike regular bike shop. Not for sale at Wal-Mart, Target, Costco or Sam's Club. These bikes are named Schwinn, Mongoose, and much more, but let me guarantee you, are they are not the real McCoy!
After releasing a can of worms, also watch out for high pressure sales cycle. Believe it or not, they are there! If they are such a good product why do they have to buy you under pressure?
Back to brand names. If you go to buy a Schwinn, Mongoose, and other formerly well-familiar cycle, dealing with the company directly or a reputable bike shop in the area. You have no Wal-Mart BMX bikes in your local bicycle dealer!
Then we come to hardware! If you're going to your son or daughter get a bike make sure you invest in an ultra-lightweight aluminum or chromoly rims. So many bikes that are sold with cheap wheels and cranksets. It is worth the extra one to two hundred dollars to your child the very best components. It will last longer and your child will be one of the best and worst BMX bikes on the block!
Now that we have said that investing in three-piece aluminum crutches or a piece of aluminum, titanium or chromoly or whatever other space shuttle-type materials they have! No opt-out for normal steel cranks. Get a bike that a lifetime or at least a twenty year frame warranty.
Would you buy a vintage BMX bike or a local e-bay auction investing in the 1984 Schwinn Sting. That bike is totally Bad To The Bone men. Any newer versions of the Schwinn Sting must be purchased.
Fine and dandy, let's talk on wheels. Rims should be light. BMX bikes have as many big heavy wheels. Alloy wheels should be. You also want to ask closed with hubs because they require no maintenance, almost always, and they make them the best BMX bikes everywhere.
Plus, you must also listen to your child. If they love the bike is the bike for them. But let them know that you love them is enough to request upgrades to wheels, tires and brakes!
Moreover, BMX bikes have mid-range for the best brakes. again retrieve alloy, or high dollar brake. This is your child's safety for goodness sakes! You know how much cheap brakes are on BMX bikes? You do not know, believe me. I've broken several myself over the years!
If it is offered with the bike, it's ok to change the default hub that breaks with their right leg as well, and handbrake, double the stopping power! In Mesa, Arizona, I can not count all the times I've fishtailed with my BMX bike with this feature! You can not do that in some of the higher end bikes, but on how much you still! Demand for both if they have it, the coaster style with hand brakes!
Put your money in a mid-range helmet is ANSI certified and is characterized by them. Get gloves that are excellent quality. Each BMX bike should have goosekneck, steering, frame and top pads, absolute minimum, let your child take the bike without them.
Welding on a frame should have nice thick welding that you would want to eat off. Do not buy a bike with ugly welds. Also, look for over-priced bikes have fine welding, but low componentry.
My preference was to buy my BMX bikes with similar equipment! If the hubs, cranks, brakes, etc. were all Shimano, which is a good thing. The bike has Shimano. I would steer clear of lightweight wheel BMX bikes, but heavy cranks, hubs, made by 10 different companies!
Finally, there are only a few important things to remember. Weight. Get the lowest weight rims, hubs and components of the highest quality. It is okay for a heavier frame, but no compromise on wheels tires, or most any brakes! Buy a Haro, Diamond Back, Red Line, or of a Mongoose bicycle dealer, and you will be happy! Do not be purchased at local stores, ever! Buy direct from your local bike shop that knows BMX!
Ultimately have fun, and jump! If you can not jump the bike, do not buy it. The frames are cleared for jumping! And remember, most of all, a part of your son or daughter of your life BMX bike for at least 5-7 years, so go ahead, spend a few hundred more for better components. And remember, a disaster, fly, hold the bars, kick out the rear, and just hang on, feeling nothing but air and rises above the earth on a BMX bike, is something your child will never forget and will pass from generation to generation.

Rane MONGOOSE $1399 Rane MONGOOSE Mongoose can replace the analog mic and line level portions of an audio system with digitized audio over regular CAT 5 cable. Mongoose can be used with or without CobraNet. Mongoose and its Tracker software work with Rane’s Remotes Audio Devices (RADs) and your CobraNet network to deliver digital audio between the equipment room/rack and remote spaces, about 100 meters (328 feet). The Mongoose’s 32-by-32 digital audio matrix router receives its first 16 audio channels from up to eight RADs via the eight rear panel 8P8C (RJ-45) Remote Audio Device ports. The second 16 matrix input channels come from two eight-channel CobraNet receive (Rx) Bundles via standard CobraNet Primary and Secondary/backup ports. The 32 matrix router outputs transmit 16 channels to eight RADs and 16 more channels to two CobraNet transmit (Tx) Bundles. A family of RAD models connect to the Mongoose. Each converts analog audio to or from 24-bit, 48 kHz digital audio. Standard CAT 5 cable and termination transport four digital audio channels – two channels in each direction – as well as power, ground and a communications channel via Rane’s proprietary RAD Network. Status indicators are at the RAD signal entry points, at the front and back of the Mongoose, and in Mongoose Tracker software. Mongoose’s rear panel Ethernet port provides direct or network connection to a computer running Rane’s Mongoose Tracker software. Inexpert users are assured easy network communications with Zeroconf (Link-local/mDNS) and DHCP support. Yet, facility network managers can configure Mongoose like any other IP network device. The Ethernet port also supports Auto MDI/MDIX which automatically detects and permits either an Ethernet crossover cable (included) or a standard Ethernet cable to be used when directly connecting to a computer. Features: 32 by 32 digital audio matrix router Receive 2 and transmit 2 CobraNet Bundles Supports up to 32 digital audio channels from up to 8 RADs Ethernet port supports DHCP, Zeroconf (Link-local & mDNS) & Auto MDI/MDIX Mongoose Tracker setup software for PC is included Zeroconf-based Discovery automatically finds devices without IP setup or special IP knowledge Name each Mongoose, RAD and audio channel.
