Ownership & Management
Director – Micky Clarke
Has extensive experience in retail. With a strong sales background, he worked through the ranks of the store and assistant manager to store owner. He brings knowledge of industry and retailing has strong communication skills.
Director – Lara simpson
Combines experience as a former Australian champion away with strong accounting skills, previously a small accounting firm. Will be involved in day-to-day management of the company and serve as contact for the manufacturers, companies and personnel. Herb will commit financial and Partner Management.
Staff
There are currently six employees. Two full-time, a permanent part-time and three casuals. All are trained in-house, and bikes combine excellent knowledge with a passion for the bicycle industry. Level of remuneration is in line with Federal awards. We have also implemented a staff bonus scheme employed by the store hits targets and budgets.
Market Analysis
Define Business has undertaken extensive customer surveys and on the street and made information Ibis World retail statistics and figures.
According Ibis World, the leisure industry (which includes cycling) experienced an average annual increase of 3.7% over the next five years. This gives business Define a strong platform for growth.
Competitors are consistently increasing profits of $ 276,000 in 2003 to $ 390,000 in 2007. Expected earnings are $ 415,000 for 2008. Business Define main competitor has a 10-12% market share while the rest is up to or less than 2% market share. Given Define Business will offer improved customer service and a wider range of stock in a prime location, we strive for at least 2% to take market share at the end of 2008.
The CBD location has two distinct markets – business staff and students.
Product and Service
- Accessories. a wide range of accessories offered. Locks, computer speed, fenders, cargo racks, comfortable chairs, lights, helmets, water bottles, bags / backpacks / messenger bags, child seats and trailers, bicycle racks and car roof rack all fall into this category. It is not possible to carry all the accessories, so choose based on who will be most useful or desired by our target markets. For special wishes for a new item is received, we will order a number of local demand test, and if sufficient, will be added to the regular stock.
