What is the part on a specialized big hit 03 called that joins the frame and the suspension?
i have a specialized big hit and where the mech hanger hangs from has snapped of so i can’t ride the bike and would like to know what it is called and where i can get the part from. This is also the part from which the wheel sits in.

It’s just called the dropout…..same as on other bikes, except that (if I remember right) your bike has a different linkage system and the dropouts are separate pieces (or yours may be a one-piece seatstay/dropout with a separate chainstay that goes to the bottom bracket, I can’t remember). With most bikes,and most full suspension rear triangles, the dropouts are welded or bonded into the frame stays.
Get in touch with a Specialized dealer to order a new one….and ask about a warranty replacement. Those parts do break, but they may swing you a free one if possible. Check the pivots for damage, too…..might be a good time to service/replace them, too, if the bike has seen a lot of use in its 4 years or if things were damaged when the part broke.
