Try to buy find the right bike. HELP!?

Firstly, it's not a matter of what I'm going to buy it is a question of what to buy based the type of rider I am. Last year I bought a Schwinn bike from Walmart and got into it pretty hard and the road that the road bike, so I took every penny of it. It was $ 200. That was then, this is now, and I know a bit more about what good bikes are worth and how someone can get in depth on what they want. They are basically cars. That's how importatnt they are for me. So I looked at a trek to my local dealer, haha, and about 700-100 rounds about what I could get. Now knowing my history and my price range I'm ready to be a big jump. I would love to drive, when I go to university and try to put in some local races, if any. I ride every day after school and their own and bought a trainer this past winter. I continue 17.5 miles per hour as my average speed over 1200 miles away I was last summer for 3 months. Am I ready for this type of investment!?

Wow, very good question. As others have said, no, you are ready for the best bike you can get. Your price range gives you just enough to get you into a good buy "real" road bike. For that price I would say you look at the Trek 1.2. It is a good bike and they are much more in this price range what are so good. You will be very happy if your new bike compared to the Wal Mart bike. Your investment will not only serve you as transport, but will help for a healthy lifestyle. You may well be a lifelong love of cycling, like many people here to develop. Invest in something that has so many benefits is wise and will give you years of enjoyment. You can not beat that!
