TREK 7.5 FX or BIANCHI SAN JOSE FLAT BAR or SWOBO DIXON?

I’m looking to buy my first commuter bike. I don’t know much about bikes and even a bit scared of riding on the streets in LA traffic, but my employer is offering a $500 incentive! So I want to use the $$$ to buy a high quality bike that I can depend on and I’ve been recommended the 3 above. I know that the Bianchi is a single speed, Trek and Swobo are 9-speed’s, but I have no idea which is “best for me”. I’ve been to a few bike shops and they all tell me that all are fine and to get what “feels best”. But they all feel the same, as it is still uncomfortable for me right now as I’m so new to the scene. It is a 7.5 mile commute each way (15 miles total) and on decent roads with a few potholes.
Also, although the Swobo Dixon is the most expensive, I can get a discount on that so it should fall in the same price range as the others.
Please give me your thoughts and opinions.
Thanks!

not sure what would be best for you out of those three. If I were you though I’d go to a local bike shop and ask them and get fitted for the right sized bike. Then go to www.bikesdirect.com and shop online. You can get a lot more for your money for a new bike online than from a bike shop. Shops have like a 40% mark up. I bought a Motobecane (Armstrong used to ride for them before Trek bought him out.
